Both Spain and Portugal are favourite destinations of ours. The scenic beauty, history and culture are timelessly alluring. This webpage is a compilation of photos and commentary from three trips to different regions of Spain and Portugal.
 

On the first trip, we travelled through Southern Spain and Northern Portugal. We flew into Madrid, and then travelled by train, bus and rental car through the cities and towns of Andalucia. Then we flew from Seville to Lisbon and drove to the sights between Lisbon and Porto.

We returned 3 years ago, when we settled in Marbella and Malaga, spent more time on the Costa del Sol, and then visited cities up the coast, including Alicante, Valencia, Barcelona and Palma de Majorca (see Mediterranean Meandering). This was followed by a cruise to the Canary Islands and Madeira. Another trip 2 years ago, our last before Covid stopped international travel, took us to the the Portuguese islands of the Azores and Madeira, then on to the Algarve and back to Lisbon.
